Introductions

Well, I do suppose this is the first step. I'm going out on a limb by stepping into the blogging community. I am a novice when it comes to writing a blog. I have journaled virtually my whole life, how much different can this be? =)

Anyway, hello, my name is Amber. I live in Indiana and am 24 years young, married to a wonderful man (and incredibly handsome, too. Go me!) and we have one beautiful almost five-month old daughter. Oh, and a neurotic cat. I used to work for a psychiatrist (5 years) but left that job to be a stay at home mother. I loved my job, but childcare costs are outrageous. I would have been working just to pay for childcare. No thank you. Who really wants to do that? I love that I have been provided the opportunity to stay home full time...changing poopy diapers, getting spit-up on, peed on, drooled on...this list can go on. (Ha!)
No, really, it is wonderful. Any stay at home parent out there can agree. There is nothing like being able to watch your little one grow and learn each day. I find it amazing how fast my daughter is growing, and how quickly she is learning new things. (For instance, my daughter just yesterday learned that she can pull her socks off of her feet, grin at me, then throw it and not get in trouble because it's cute. For now.) Sure, the pay isn't the greatest and the hours are terrible (24/7) but the reward at the end of the day makes every single moment worthwhile.
More about me...I am a coffee addict. No cream, no sugar (usually), just the way nature intended. I also love to read. I don't have a favorite author, really. I will read just about anything put in front of me. I also enjoy writing/journaling. I guess now it will be blogging. Sorry to those of you out there who read my writing...I am generally sleep deprived and bouncing from one subject to another. Mommy brain--a splendid thing.
I am addicted to my laptop, my local library, scrapbooking, pasta, oh, and House, MD. It's a wonderful show. Sarcasm does not escape me. I spend lots of time in mommy mode, and I love taking my daughter on walks. However; seeing as how I live in Indiana and it is the end of October, I don't see many more walks in our forecast. We get snow. Lots of snow. And ice. It sucks. I am not a cold-weather person. Give me autumn weather any day. I love the changing colors of the leaves, the crisp weather, the smell of autumn. I love watching the wonder in my daughter's eyes as we walk by the little creek in my apartment complex and she sees all the yellows, oranges, reds, browns, and what few greens are left. She is in awe of all the colors, like nature laid out a buffet of them especially for her.
So yeah, there you go. That's me in a nutshell. I am a sleep deprived mother who would gladly take another cup of coffee while curling up with a good book on the couch. Or a nap on said couch. That would be wonderful too. Yep, just your typical woman next door.
